Website

We collect only the data you enter in the forms (sign-up, inspection request, listing, purchase request and contact): name, email, phone and vehicle details. They are used to handle your request and get in touch with you. They are not shared with third parties outside the service or used for advertising.

We use a single technical session cookie to keep you logged in. There are no analytics or advertising cookies.

Chrome extension

What it reads. When you open the side panel on a car listing, the extension reads only the vehicle data from that page: make, model, version, year, mileage, price, fuel, gearbox, location, VIN if shown, and the listing URL. It does not read forms, passwords or the rest of the page content, and it does not take screenshots.

Where it runs. The detector loads automatically only on coches.net, AutoScout24, Wallapop and Milanuncios. On any other site it only runs if you open the panel on that tab, and only in that tab.

What it stores. The history of analysed vehicles is stored in your browser's local storage (chrome.storage) so you can look at it again. You can delete it from the panel itself or by uninstalling the extension; there is no copy on our servers.

What it sends. In the current version the analysis (CocheScan Score, price comparison, warnings) is calculated entirely in your browser and nothing is sent to the internet. If you click "Request inspection", cochescan.com opens with the vehicle data preloaded in the URL so you do not have to type it again; from then on the "Website" section applies. When the analysis moves to our servers, the vehicle data will be sent encrypted (HTTPS) to cochescan.com solely for that purpose and this policy will be updated beforehand.

What we do not do. We do not sell or share data, we do not track your browsing, we do not show advertising and we do not use the data for anything unrelated to the extension's main function.

Permissions requested. sidePanel (interface in the side panel), storage (local history), activeTab and scripting (read the listing in the active tab when you open the panel).

Your rights

You can request access to, correction or deletion of your data at any time through the contact page. We will reply within 30 days at most.
